ATEN CL5716I
16-Port PS/2-USB VGA
Single Rail LCD KVM over IP switch
1-Local/Remote Shared Access
The ATEN CL5716I is a premium rack‑mountable LCD KVM switch with integrated IP access, enabling both local and remote control of up to 16 computers from a single console. Its compact 1U Slideaway™ housing houses a 17″ or 19″ LED-backlit LCD, illuminated keyboard, and touchpad—ideal for server rooms and data centers where space is at a premium. Thanks to dual console interface support (USB and PS/2), it offers flexible connectivity and reliable boot-up compatibility across diverse computing environments.
What elevates the CL5716I is its superior remote management design. Through a secure network port, it supports up to 32 concurrent browser-based sessions, offering an enterprise-grade remote experience. Security is assured with TLS 1.2 encryption, RC4 encryption for keyboard/mouse/video, and integration with RADIUS, LDAP, LDAPS, and Active Directory—catering to strict authorization and compliance needs. Administrators also benefit from built-in chat functionality (“Message Board”) for real-time team communication during troubleshooting or maintenance.
Locally, users can seamlessly switch among computers via front-panel buttons, keyboard hotkeys, or a multilingual On‑Screen Display (OSD). Notably, the Panel Array Mode allows simultaneous viewing of multiple system video outputs, while Mouse DynaSync™ ensures pointer alignment remains accurate—even when client cursor settings differ—reducing the chance of misclicks or confusion.
The CL5716I’s modular daisy-chain architecture enables users to connect up to 15 additional units, supporting centralized control of up to 256 systems from one console—ideal for growing infrastructures. It also allows an extra external console connection, giving flexibility for an alternate local access point using standard VGA and USB/PS2 I/O.
Video performance remains uncompromised. The local console delivers sharp visuals at 1280 × 1024 @ 75 Hz, while remote sessions support clear imagery up to 1920 × 1200 @ 60 Hz with 24-bit color. The device stores EDID info via Video DynaSync™, ensuring consistent, high-quality video across disconnections and reboots.
To improve on-site usability, the unit includes LED-illuminated keyboard and touchpad, enhancing visibility in poorly lit racks. The LCD panel pivots up to 115°, offering ergonomic viewing angles. All connections are hot‑pluggable, enabling flexible system management even during operation.
On the security front, the CL5716I provides thorough credential control: two-tier password authentication supports one admin and multiple user accounts (up to 64), while IP/MAC filtering and IPv6 compatibility strengthen enterprise-level access policy enforcement. All system and login activities are logged—both locally and remotely—ensuring traceability and audit readiness .
It also supports broadcast mode (for pushing updates or commands to multiple systems), auto-scan mode (sequential system monitoring), and synchronized firmware upgrades across daisy-chained units—features aimed at efficient and large-scale system upkeep.
From a hardware perspective, it’s built to last: a rugged metal enclosure supporting universal AC mains, stable operations in warehouse-to-datacenter environments (0–50 °C, up to 80% non-condensing humidity), and compact form factor (~27 × 48 cm footprint, ~1U rack height) .
In summary, the ATEN CL5716I is a highly capable, secure, and space-efficient KVM solution for hybrid management environments. It offers reliable local console access, encrypted remote sessions, real-time collaboration tools, expandable system reach through daisy chaining, and versatile user interfaces—all wrapped in a durable, rack-friendly design. Whether deployed in server closets, data centers, or control rooms, this unit streamlines administration while maintaining enterprise-grade security and scalability.
